Gears & Axles - S60 1/2" wheel studs

It's time for upgrading the wheel studs in my S60. I'm looking at going with 1/2" ARP's. Not sure what length I need but they need to be about 3/4" longer than stock to work with my Bogarts. Stock studs are only long enough to reach the wheel face (no threads into the hex portion of the lug nut).

What part # do I need?

I've never swapped these studs out before so any hints or advice on the install would be great.

I have a 4 channel rear.

Also, any ideas for the fronts? Need them too.

you need to remove a stud and measure the hole in the axle flange to see if a 1/2 in stud is possible to install. it may be that the holes are threaded 12 mm... if this is the case, then you will need to have the axles modified to accept anything else.

I was curious about that too. The studs on my Dana are stock size. So, obviously staying 12mm would be easiest but ... what would be a reasonable power limit for that size, in an ARP stud?

Any idea how much trouble it would be to modify these axle shafts to accept the 1/2" studs? I mean, would this be a backyard mech function or would special shop tools and expertise be required?

i run 1.3x 60 foot on 12 mm studs... 3800+ pounds. where will you be at power wise? slicks or et streets?

i would not even attempt to mod the axles. remove them and send them back to Strange to have another bolt pattern drilled. it's not that costly.

480+ NA but a 150 shot is somewhere in the future.

No slicks, just DOT tires (DR's or bias ply)

the Strange metrics would probably be fine for you. if you are gonna run a thick wheel like a Prostar or Draglite, then you might consider the upgrade moreso.
