Need a few tenths
Have a 2000 Z28 with the following mods.
Full exhaust - L/T's, ORY, and cat-back
K&N air filter
AIR delete
SFC's
3.42 gear
Yank SS4000 converter
M/T drag radials
The car as it sits will run 12.33, but I want to get to 12.0 or better to run a class.
I will have the SLP lid tomorrow, and have lca's and relocation brackets on order. Also going to get a ported stock T/B.
What else can I do (bolt-on wise) to help reach my goal?
Thanks guys.

skinnies
pulley
electric water pump
remove front sway bar, jack/spare, rear and passenger seats and belts.
Make up some sort of ram air setup, like a SUX2BU or something
you could ditch the cat back and just run an open ORY, or open headers even
FAST intake/tb if you like

108 mph
Thanks guys.
Like I said, I will be getting the ported TB this week.
Do you think the free mods would help much? I have heard mixed opinions on those.
I forgot about the sway bar. I think I will bust that off tomorrow.

108.....sounds like you should be trapping more than that with headers, do you have a good tune on it? Throttle body should help a little ,I,m trying a ported one thurs. when I go down to the track. Maybe post your 12.33 slip and ,ill look at mine to compare to see where you might be loosing some.....but its summertime and hot out, what was the DA or temp out when you ran?

I agree 108 seems low... I'd figure more like 110 or so. I ran several 12.30's in my car with a 110 trap with a crap 1.8 60'. regardless after you get the mods and pull weight get a dyno tune or better yet get a Wideband and HPT or LS1Edit and dial in your own tune.

It's got a big converter, it's good down low, but suffers up top. When I didn't have the converter, it ran 13.4 at 107 mph. Go figure.
Don't know the DA, but I'm guessing it was low. It was cooler out and we're near sea level.
I also can't seem to find my time slip anywhere. I have a few, but not the 12.30's ones.

jbourne - i would suggest removing the front sway bar, front & rear bumper supports, backseats, spare tire & jack. that is the free stuff.
i would suggest purchasing some strong LCAs and a nice adj. torque arm, also. also might i suggest finding some weld wheels for the track. that way you can run a 15" tire out back and 3.5" or whatever up front. will knock some more weight off and also improve your ability to hook up. also, an underdrive pulley will help. remove the short belt going to the a/c compressor, as well. oh, and remove your air filter when racing haha it consistently gained 1.5-2 mph for me at the track.
i think all you need to go 11s is a hard hook and cold night as you sit. to do so on a more consistent basis will take some weight removal and susp. parts.
