Default Tire Recommendation

Tire size is 275/40/zr17 Currently on the wheels are goodyear eagle F1 GS, but they are about shot and I'm not paying $300 a tire.

Whats the best bang for the buck for $200 or less?

Thanks

I think the BFG KDW is one of the best street tires out there and the price is not too bad either. I currently have the F1 GSD3 but liked the KDW better. Both are better than the GS though.

BFG KDW's for under $200. Goodyear has a $50 rebate on F1 GS-D3's which brings the price to about $200 each. I recently (less than a week) went from BFG KDW's to the Goodyear GS-D3's. The Goodyears are quieter. They both get comparable straight line traction. The BFG's seem to have slightly better cornering grip. The Goodyears are better at resisting hydroplaining. The Goodyears weight 2lbs each less than the BFG's according to TireRack. Both tires are WAY better than the Eagle F1 GS's, but so far I liked the BFG KDW's a little better.

Does anybody have HANKOOK VENTUS HRII? They have a speed rating of only H, but I can get 4 tires mounted, balances with tax $530 which seems really cheap

Ive got Falken Azenis RT-615 and I love them. greatest tire ive ever had, but not the best for a daily driver since they dont last too long.

I just looked them up. the Azenis treadwear is rated 200 where as the FK452 I was thinking about are rated 300, so should last longer. Any complaints about wet handling?

I went with Riken Raptors, all four shipped for around $420. So far i like them. Haven't had them to the track yet but they ride nice on the street and seem to grab good. Also its a good looking tire.

I had those on mine for 2 years pretty much and was very happy with them. Towards the end though they had terrible grip. This time I went with Fulda Quantum elites. They are Z rated and I have been real happy with them. I got them at big-O for just a little over $100 a tire I think.
