Install Complete! do think i'll hit lo 12's?
So i got the 3:23's, ss3200, crane 227 and everything else installed and today i finally got all the little quarks worked out and fluids topped off-ya know, all that fun stuff...
i also went with the slp lm2 bullet muffler as opposed the the lm1 that i had been running and i'm very glad i did that also...
Right now i am 26 miles in on my ss3200 150 mile break-in period but i can tell is...
This car is gonna haul some ***! i'm thinking lo 12's
FYI: I ran 13.1 without cam and converter but i did have 3:42's...
i think going with the 1le elbow is better then the vortech elbow...
you all have helped me out tremendously and i would like to give you all a big thanks...
THANK YOU

12.7ish maybe a tad bit higher easily with decent tires, no mention or i overlooked what tires you're running out back. 1LE elbow over a Vortec isn't going to make a bit of difference whatsover...at all...

Reasons i chose 3:23's
First, it was free from a 01 ws6 a4 with 17k!
Second, 3:42 rearend was leaking like a siv and making noises that were making me nervous... I had broke 3:73's before and am aware of the "noise"...
third, the yank ss3200 is made for corvettes with 3:15 ratio.
Forth, great gears for track and racing ******** from a roll... i would rather race from a stop but there are those times when your cruising around and someone wants to play...
fifth, 3:23 is a thicker gear and much stronger then 3:42's and 3:73... I know 2:73's are stronger yet but i'm not going that low...
sixth, they are a little more fuel efficient...
seventh, i wanted people to question "why!?"...
but in a couple weeks i'll find out what my quarter times will be...
FYI: shocks from the 01 ws6 are too long (not enough threads) to be used in 97 z28's
Thanks for the comments... keep them coming...
i am hoping for low 12's but i will be happy with 12.7 and quicker...
i am now at 90 miles of my 150 mile breakin period and have pulled out from a stop more then enough times now to know that there is no problem whatsoever with running the 3:23's with the yank ss/3200 torque converter---> trust me!

Street tires but they bite just as good as the et streets that i tried out last year... i ran the same 60' with both and everyone at the track was like, what the $hit??? so i just stick with these however the et streets did take the shifts better but i didn't run the quarter any quicker...

I think low 12's may be a little stretch I could see some easy mid 12's out of it tho but only with some DR's. I use to hook fine with street tires at the track until I added a stall, traction is non existant with my SS3600 and street tires. Your going to really need some DR's since you now have a stall to get the best 60's you can which equate to the best et's. A stall and street tires may even make for worse 60' foot times than you were getting before. I would say low 12's if you had a larger stall and some 3.73's and of course DR's but I hope you can prove my thoughts wrong, good luck!

Very nice.. I just got my LT1 installed.. I'm running into a problem with the LT4 knock sensor.. Since I used my "old" MAF sensor (188,000+ miles), I think its clogged up or chocking my new build.. It only idles around 400 RPM. Yep, it idles just enough like it is chocking, and has only enough air to barely stay idle.. So I will pull the MAF and see what's up. Any suggestions? (sorry for the dirty pic.. I should have cleaned it up a little before snapping the picture).
