Default Custom LS build tune

I am thinking of trying to build a larger displacement LS engine out of a 6.0L block. I believe adding a 4" stroke crank will get me 402 ci. I am also going to stick L92 heads on it. I'd like to keep the harness and computer that came with the LQ9 engine.

My question is about computer tuning. I have spoken with a few people that are telling me even if I send the computer and harness in to have them modified to work with the build there is no way the tune will be correct once the car is up and running. From what I understand I will need to find a competant tuner to get everything right. My problem is I live in the sticks and there isn't an LS tuning shop within 600 miles of here.

How much truth is there to that theory? The whole computer issue is all that is holding me back right now.

Thanks much for any help/advice.
