Default only getting 42-46psi, what to do????

i was getting low fuel pressure at the time i was getting tuned. so i installed a racetronics pump and hotwire kit. i saw 52-56psi for a while.(about six months) now all of the sudden im getting 46 @ idle and 42 while driving. i tried to contact racetronics, but they wont give me a reply! what do i look at first? any input would greatly be appreciated!

Check your return at the reg., disconnect the vacuum hose, see where its at, check & see if pressure drops off sharply after you shut it down (it shouldn't), what hose did you use on the pump to pickup end? also i would dead-head the pump & see if the pressure jumps up, you can do this by blocking off the return side just past the regulator. I was having a similar issue but worse, come to find out it was the feed line from the pump, it swelled up & loosened letting the pump prime the fuel back in the tank causeing pressure to drop, but it did stay steady at 26 PSI, but would drop to 24 under throttle, i'm running an adj. reg., now its at 45 at idle & 50 under throttle.

i took the fuel bucket out yesterday and everything looked good. i tightened the fuel outlet hose on the pump maybe another full turn. other than that everything else looked fine. then............... when i put the bucket back in and started priming the pump, the fuel pressure gauge would only read 2psi! i kept priming but got nothing. then i tried to crank the car and it fired right up! i let it run for about a minute and then decided to drive it up the driveway. it drove fine. so when the parts stores open up today im going to get a handheld fuel pressure gauge and test my rail. after all the crap i went through i think it might just be a bad fuel pressure sender for my fuel pressure gauge or the autometer gauge itself!

ive got 62psi @ the rails! that gauge has never read that. so....... what have we learned from this? to go buy a $40 fail rail diagnostic gauge and test the rail pressure before we start tearing the fuel bucket out!!! guess i will put my car back together now.

How were you reading it before?

i guess the gauge has always been messed up because it used to read 56psi, then recently it went to 42psi. i never had anything to check the rails with until yesterday. i picked up a diagnostic gauge. i originally thought the gauge was reading accuratly. so i figured i had i bad pump.

pretty much like it did when my pressure gauge was reading 52-56, strong.
