My buddy just sent me a email. He said he saw a new camaro, today as a test mule for GM with an LS7 in it. They wouldn't let him take pics but he said it looked killer! Gainesville, TX testing.

his exact email - "on another note i got to see one yesterday up close with an LS7 in it, it was a test mule that a GM performance group out of Gainesville has been testing, they wouldn't let me snap and pictures of it, but wow its a big ass car but has some killer looks to it should sell pretty well, but 80k units is going to be really hard with the current economy status"

I'd buy one with an LS7 over a supercharged motor i think.

btw, i'm just the messenger.

Well there puting the ZR1 motor in 09 Cadillac CTS V-Series Just detuned.

So it will be ZR1 motor or Ls7 detuned on Fastest Camaro

An LSA is NOT a detuned LS9.
They share blocks, and that's about it.

btw, i'm just the messenger.Just because a test mule has an LS7 in it during testing , doesn't mean its going to have one in production. Currently they have the Chevy Volt powertrain installed in new Malibu test mules for durability testing, but its not going to be offered in a production Malibu. They could just be testing the durability of the rest of the powertrain with a 500hp power plant since the other motor isn't available yet.

I'm slowly losing faith in humanity. Day by day...

Didn't we rule out the LS7 months ago? If I remember correctly, the LS7 is a hand-built engine, and puting that in the new Camaro would cause the prices to go way up.

Ahh, but will they relase any details about the SC car?

:D
I heard fomr a little birdie the the LSA in mules is actually running forged pistons in lieu of cast pistons and they werte putting out 500-520 wheel. N/A cars are for girlie men

Actually the Volt test mules are OLD Malibus (2007 bodies).

And there is no such thing as a Camaro test mule with an LS7 in it.

Maybe it was an LS3 with no valve covers? It would resemble and LS7. They're similar in size too, so who knows, but we will July 22nd

gm would be retarded to put an ls7 in a camaro, they would loose all sales on the vette if they did that.
