It depends on the paint's color and what color sealer you lay down. What color are you spraying them?

correct^^^
what product is it your working with PPG, DU PONT, SPIES HECKER, if ya do black=black sealer, if ya do red=grey sealer, white=white sealer., silvers=grey sealer, dark mettalics=grey or black, ppgs dbc system is mixed 1;1 covers allot better and faster becasue it is a thicker base coat
but ya see my point

it depends on what your doing with the front bumper, if the factory paint is fine and your just blending the bumper for color match then prep it and no sealer needed, but if ya fixed chips, scratches, then places where you idd body work, will need sealer
so what system are you using in ppg, dbu or dbc, i personaly like the dbc system better, all the tints are thicker, the base coat its self is thicker, mixed 1;1, uses dt reducer for sealer to clear,
when mixed with dx57 it becomes chip resistant thats according to ppg, and yes its true **** does work, and since the 4000 clear came out wow does it make the dbc stand out
so tell me which system is it dbu or dbc

I used one sprayable quart of PPG DBC black to do a color change on a white hood. It was just enough and the bottom just got enough color to hide the white.
