Default Loosing power????

A couple months back i started noticing that my car would seem to loose some power or hesitate around 4500 rpm for a quarter of a second to half a second or so then get back into the power and it would do this randomly above 4500 rpm sometimes not at all then sometimes at 4600 and 5000 rpm im really at a loss for exactly what my problem is i replaced the cap and rotor and wires with msd parts and also put in ngk plugs about this time last year and also replaced the fuel pump last year other than that my only other mod is cutting the exhaust off about 2 foot after the cat
has anyone else had this problem or have any idea what the problem is exactly?
the only things i can figure is maybe not enough back pressure from the exaust cut off but then i would think it would always do it
maybe the fuel or ignition system then?

cut the exhaust off so i could get to the fuel tank didnt have money to do exhaust so kinda let it go, i havent checked the plug wires yet and when i put the msd cap and rotor in everything down there looked like it was still original parts

how many miles on the motor? could just be lost compression in the valves. try putting some v8 restore in at ur next oil change to try and get some compression back and see if that helps any...also do some sort of fuel system clean to get your fuel flowing how it should again
