Default Lens for shooting Automotive

What Lens do you guys find yourself using the most for taking pictures non moving automotive subjects?

My kit lens with the XTI isn't cutting it anymore and I need something new.
Thinking about a wide angle lens for outdoors and auto events.

I really want to get this one but its a little to expensive for me.
Canon Zoom Super Wide Angle EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Autofocus Lens for Select Digital SLR Cameras

i was gonna suggest that one...you could also use a 50mm prime f/1.8 if you're looking at affordable stuff. those low focal length lenses are all gonna be expensive and are some great glass.

I already have the f/1.8 50 but its REALLY hard to shoot with that lens at shows because you have to be so far back to frame the vehicle.

For vehicles, I mainly use my 16-35mm 2.8L.

Right now I'm using a Sigma 17-70 as it gives me the most usable range of lengths. Something in F2.8 would be superb as I'm saving for a Sigma 70-200 F2.8

I would suggest getting these lenses and can vouch they are EXCELLENT since I own(ed) them.

Sigma 10-20mm...half the price as the canon and just as great!
Sigma 17-70mm
Sigma 70-200mm 2.8

also have read and seen the Tamron 17-50 is excellent
