Default Voltage low under acceleration

the car seems to be dropping voltage dramatically under acceleration. I have few stereo upgrades. When running A/C and listening to the radio it drops off quite a bit when i stomp it. It even gets to the point of the ABS inop light popping on and the headunit turning itself off. I've gone through a couple alternators already and am wondering if this is a situation where maybe i should go for a high output alternator or maybe their is another problem somewhere.

Ive seen a few alternators decrease in voltage instead of increase in voltage. Its mainly due to a bad alternator. What kind of alternator are you using? I dont see the need for a high output alternator at all. I tried purchasing a few cheap alternators when mine went bad and was forced to purchase a good quality AC Delco alternator that cost me over $300. I tried the cheaper alternatives and replaced 4 within a couple weeks.

I am using a stock alternator off another F-body. i thought with the stereo upgrades it was a definite thing to get a high output.

Weak belt tensioner or badly worn belt could be the problem.
