Default 98 trans am suddenly running hot (help)

I have a 98 trans am with 67000 miles. drive it once in a while. It runs great and last time I drove it was 2 or 3 months ago. Wanted to go for a drive this weakend and I noticed the temp guage is too high. I put on the heat full blast just so I could make it home. The tepm guage was on the normal line just before it goes red. When getting home I opened the hood and there was no leaks, the fan ran. I did notice that I heard bubbling inside the radiator.

What should I look for
Thermostat? Radiator?

Could it be that the car sits to long and needs to get driven more.

Please help.

theres probably air in the system. did you mess with the coolant before this happened? check the fluid once its cool, make sure there is still coolant in there. go from there in your diagnosis.

Sounds like it's time for a new thermostat.

I didn't mess with anything. The coolant is full

How hard is it to change a thermostat on an ls1. Where is it in a trans am.
I have changed a thermostat in an 80 mazda rx7 it was easy.

It's in the motor, just follow your hose.
