Default Twin pumps for 99-02 question

I read the sticky, but have a question. I already have a racetronix pump in my 00. MM's sticky talks about cutting out the bucket, but I didn't have to with the racetronix kit. The racetronix pump has the fitting for the factory bucket fill. Will I have to cut the bucket when I add the second pump or will the current pump be able to keep the bucket full? I don't want to cut it out if I don't have to. That's why I bought the racetronix kit to begin with. Thoughts???

When I got my dual pump setup the bucket was not cut open. The only part modified was the inside to allow the pumps to fit, and the bottom to allow the fuel socks to snap on to the pumps.

So are you able to run the tank almost empty with the double pump kit you have? Which kit is it?

No, I haven't installed it yet. I doubt you'd want to run it empty, but i'm sure you'd be better off with this one than cutting the bucket right open.

It's the Racetronix double pump setup that Nasty N8 and Lonnie's sell.

We use different pumps then the single kit But the way it is setup there is no need to keep 1/4 tank at all times you can run it fairly low. (Running empty is never a good thing for pumps)

Yeah, running it empty is not good, but when I'm changing fuels I like to get it fairly low. I just read that some of the early DYI double pump kits couldn't run lower than a 1/4 tank.

You can run them very low, but I do not recommend racing the car if it is low on fuel as there are no baffles to control the fuel under severe acceleration.

For normal driving there should be nothing to worry about.

The jet pump system has to go with a DP setup.
The F99-FPA can not be used with a DP system because of its jet pump feed.
The single in-tank F99-FPA system should not be used with a modified bucket.

I modify your sending unit for the dual pumps & return it completely assembled & tested. It comes with wiring harness & is ready to install.
