Default H/C/I motor...SLP MAF or Z06 MAF

Alright guys, I am wanting to step up my MAF (currently using stock ported). I am debating between the '04 screenless Z06 MAF and the slp 85mm MAF.
I have the Fast Toys lid, see sig for rest. I also have EFI live so tuning is not a problem. The only tuning issue is that I will not go SD....I tried and hated the way the car ran compared to when using the MAF.

Pros/cons of either when compared to one another? I've done a search, lots of info there. Thank you

Stock MAF. period.

Believe me, I messed around with the MAF on my LT1 and had nothing but problems. Same when it came time to mess with the intake on my LS1. Eventually, my MAF died during my dyno tune. I asked the guys at Speed Inc., and they told me they could throw on a stock MAF and keep tuning...... see power in sig.

It may not be the answer you wanna hear, but it is the right one. Stock MAF. Don't descreen it, just leave it alone.

The Z06 maf is ok, I know tuners don't complain about that one too much.

My tuner liked the Z06 MAF just fine, easy to tune.

The only problem with running a Z06 MAF verses a calibrated SLP unit is that it will peg much earlier. One a stout H/C stroker motor or a dry nitrous vehicle, this can be a problem.

Stock 75mm MAF becomes the choke when you upgrade to a 90-92mm TB and intake manifold.

My tuners advice was to get a Z06 MAF and put it on before he tunes the car but otherwise leave the stock and said dont waste money on the SLP one...

You can find a stock descreened 85mm MAF for around $40 on E-bay. Your tuner will use the same tables as the 04 ZO6 MAF with no problems.

Thank you for the replies guys. There is no way I am keeping the stock one on there, I should be well above the 500fwhp mark N/A. Not to mention the whole bottle neck thing.
I have heard the slp's are a hit or miss, and make tuning a pita. I do my own tuning now, but the shop I will be dynoing at recommended the Z06 as well, using the table from an '03 Z06 and increasing the values by 6%. This should get me close, making the final adjustments that much easier.
