Default Help re: Gearing for 1/8&1/4

Hey guys,

I am getting the car tuned this weekend for the nitrous. I need some help on a gearing setup for my car. I am putting this in the nitrous section, because you will have better insight on what nitrous will do to my mph.

Currently, the car is as follows:

3500lbs w/driver
Forged 347
Trex/Ls6 heads/Fast 90
TH350(footbraked on a tight 3100 stall)
9" rear with currently Detrioit locker and 4.22's
MT ET drag 28x10x15 or MT ET radial 325/50/15's
we are planning on a 175 hit via a Nitro dave plate and HSW noids

That being said, the car made 460/430 N/a through the old M6 setup. I have no idea what the TH350 will make. I do know the car goes pretty consistently 93-95 in the 1/8 on motor right now.

Is the 4.22 gear too much for a 1/4 pass on this setup? It makes great power Na up to and through 7k rpms, but i used to shift at around 68-6900 on the M6. I plan to do the same with this setup.

Can you guys provide some insight?

Ps--I have a 3.90 gear and a spool in the garage to go in it if need be. However, i would obviously like to run the 4.22 gear IF it'll make it through the 1/4.

Thanks Guys!

i personally dont think i would want to run more than a 3.89/3.90 gear but your gearing shouldnt negatively effect you. it depends so much on teh efficiency of the converter.

I guess the only way to know is to run it and see where i am sitting at in the 1/8 and 1/4?
