Default Alternator overcharging (new alternator )

I have a 99SS the alt. gauge stays in the red pretty much maxed out. I switched the alt. out for a new one because I thought that the voltage regulator went bad in it and no change. Any ideas?

Default

did you put a voltmeter to the alternator to see if it is actually putting out what the gauge is showing? Could be a broke gauge.
