I took pics when i pulled mine out but that was 3 years ago and i cant find then now . I didn't weigh it but it probably saved at least 25# directly off the nose.

That bar is a heavy piece. its also a big part of your front frame tie. without it, if you get in an accident, your frame is very prone to getting bent easily without this.

The front is steel and styrofoam, the rear is fiberglass and plastic.

What do you want pics of?
My car was already gutted, I put the ac, radiator baffles and washer bottle back in, don't think I'll ever put the inner bumpers back.

We took EVERYTHING out of the front end. Cut the metal bar, etc. did away with the stock radiator & fans. This is what's replacing it. It's a chromemoly bumper & radiator support. Together with the new radiator it weighs 28 lbs.

Here are a couple pics. I'll get more once everything is powdercoated and installed.

It should be. In addition to that we removed the ABS, AC & the entire box that's behind the dash. I also bought a Meziere race water pump, Burkhart racing K member & A arms, went to a manual steering rack and bought Aerospace brakes. I'll post some pics of the finished project.

I don't think removing bumper supports to save weight is a good idea on a street car. Buy some lightweight rims or a lift off glass hood if you want to save weight. Don't jeopardize your life just to gain .05 in the 1/4 mile. If anything, build something similar to what cam02ss did, that doesn't seem to lose much in the way of structural integrity. Not to mention, a 10 MPH wreck could total your car and if your insurance company finds out the bumper support was missing, they probably won't cover your claim. I know no one wants to hear the voice of reason in cases like this, but I myself don't see how it's worth it.

FYI- The chromeoly support that you see weighs less than my stock fans and radiator did. So far we've taken well over 100 lbs off the car.

Here's the finished support that I had powdercoated. The last pic is all the parts that will be installed over the next few days
