Default Let me know what you guys think of this LT1 Camaro I might buy!

Guys, let me know what you think about this one. I just looked at a 95 polo green Z28 6 speed convertible today. The guy is asking 4, and after checking the car out I wouldn’t want to pay anything over 2,500. Body is a little scratched up and dinged more than usual, like it has never been garaged, and the front bumper is faded. Interior pieces are broken here and there,(center console arm rest, sun visor, glove box, window switch holder, shifter ball) needs pads, rotors, and shocks all the way around, needs a window motor, door lock on the driver side, and the top seemed a little slow to open and close. It does run very well though. The car does not hesitate, shifts perfect, and no rear end noise. I did pull out of a street and gave it some gas and the exhaust was banging the floor board. He dropped down to 3. I want to try 2,500 but not to sure if it is worth 3 and then dumping a lot of $ into mechanics when I can find one for a little more $ with better cosmetics. It has a black top (replaced 4 years ago) and grey cloth with 111,000 miles. They guy is also the original owner. All suggestions welcome.

yeah i wouldnt pay 3 as well,I payed 2900 for a 1993 trans am lt1 with great paint, hardly any dings, evrything works, always garaged and serviced, new tires, interior in immaculate condition with 96,000 original miles. It may seem like all the little broken stuff is small in value, but it quickly adds up.I would keep looking, theres alot of people looking to get rid of these cars due to the gas prices so dont sweat it.

I would keep looking unless you can get it for around 2000.00, i paid 4300.00 for my 97 Z28 M6, it has higher mileage 158K, but its really clean, super clean interior, awsome paint, well maintaned & most of its life its been garaged with only highway miles, PLUS i have a stack of receipts of all the mods that were done, theres a good 3500.00 in those alone, it came with a spare set of custom wheels/tires along with the originals.

Thanks for some input guys. Sorry I dont have any pics of the car, but all I can say is the body is in decent shape, but not really clean. No rust or anything, car is from Florida, but dings and scrtaches. I offered him 2 for it and he turned it down and told me 3. I told him we can talk over the weekend but im just gona look for something else. I def want a 6 speed car and I have always wanted a convertable so thats what im gona stick with.

I actually think 3 is not too bad for a 6 speed with that mileage if it runs well and the body doesn't need too much work. If you want a manual and this is the only option I wouldn't turn that down.

I don't think you will find a 6-speed car in decent shape for $2,000. It sounds like $3,000 might be a fair offer. It fits the bill as far as your qualifications and is in working condition. You will not find a cheaper car in better shape than the one you are looking at...IMO

I'm not sure about that, theres a **** loud of them on e-bag, & i've seen some 95 6sp. cream puffs going for around 4K with 100K, the ones that will bring the big $$$$ are the VERY low miled ones, especially the 97 30th. anniversary 6sps., but if there over 120K & so-so, they don't bring ****, go check it out. If i was to put mine up for sale, i'de play hell getting 4500.00 in this market because of the miles, & thats with a fresh set of PS LTs & a fresh 2000.00 moser 9" up-grade with 4.11s, custom driveshaft & BMR torque arm, thats why i need to enjoy it for a while, i'm sure i paid alittle too much for mine (because of the miles), but it was well maintaned & cared for, plus had a bunch of up-grades & new parts.

I would walk up to him with 2500.00 cash, if he says no, then no biggy, keep looking.

Just have somebody else(a friend of yours) go look at the car and fake interest in it by offering $2200,then when he rejects your frineds offer, you call him up,say, i got 2500 cash right now for the car,let me know if youll take it and its a wrap, you get a car and all is well.
