Sorry it took a while to get some good ones, but they're here now. Like I've said in the past, I decided on doing black because no one else has, plus it's subtle yet it stands out ALOT. One of the better appearance mods I did.

That is very cool. Nice job on not being to over the top with the
color scheme. It's easy for that to happen.

I like it, but I wish you tons of luck on keeping it scratch/chip free.

Now, lose the ricer Type-R floormats please

Looks good.. nice and subtle

Ive always said that black, metallic black and dark charcoal grey would be great interior accent colors..

Tony, if the parts were cleared with a GOOD automotive grade clear they wouldnt scratch.. Saleen Mustangs have had painted parts for years.

Oh, the floor mats are scaring me!!

I like it, but it would look maybe nicer if the whole console was black.

I like the door handle painting.

I'll have to get some pics up of mine. I've done some black on the inside also. Been a slow process though, all the rain lately hasnt helped much.

When I see painted interior pics I cringe, but I have to say I like the black

Nice! I like that so much I may have to do something similar (NOT the same) with my formula. Again, nice job!

If I did it, I would only do the radio and the door handle areas, I don't like the abrupt way the gauge bezel and the console top transition to the stock colors. I might like the gauge bezel if I saw it in person.

What kind of prep work did you do for the plastic? Just clean and paint? Kinda got me thinking about this more now... TIA.

Wow, I didn't think I'd get this much positive criticism back

Thanks for all the compliments guys.

As far as the mats... yeah... when I got them I never really understood what the hell I got, just got them because they looked decent (or so I thought then) I DO want to get some new mats now but I don't know what I want. As far as the Raptor logo, yeah, that'd definately be cool.

For the painting and prepping, here's what I did: I had all the pieceds taken off (duh) which was alot harder than I thought. When I took off the door-handle-pieces the window control buttons wouldn't come off. Once everything was off, I sanded everything down. Used 600 grit dry/wet paper first. Used water while sanding because it also helped clean it of any chemicals. After everything got sanded down I cleaned the pieces, pretty much soaked them in water and dried them off. Next I painted, I heard some people didn't even bother priming, I didn't see what the big deal was, it came out fine. For the paint, I picked up some interior/exterior gloss black paint from a parts store. Put two thick (not runny) coats on, let it dry about 30 min between coats, then a couple hours before I put it all back in. Only thing I never tried was a coat of clear. I've heard some people do that, but when I tried on a practice piece it came out cloudy, so I didn't bother. Now, whenever I clean the interior, I can't use Armor-All on the pieces, so usually a damp cloth will get the pieces clean of any fingerprints or dust.

ProStock John, as far as the bezel piece, I know exactly what you mean. I was hesitant to even do that piece because imagining it in my mind, I thought it'd be really gaudy and tacky, but thought I'd risk it. I painted it and it came out great. The main reason I wanted it painted was so it would bring out the white-faced guages even more.

For future mods, I plan on getting the white backgrounds for the HVAC controls, shifter display, and by the headlight switch. I imagine it will contrast things even more, and should be another subtle addition.

Once again, thanks for the compliments, and sorry if I missed someone's question.

Looks really good. I have been thinking of ways to get the interior of my car to look not so cheap. The interior is the only thing I do not like about these cars. I got leather from autoleathers.com and this might be the next step. I really like the way the black is so subtle. Almost like it came like that. Really good idea.
