Default what stock LS1 cam is better for turbo?

I am throwing something together cheap with left over parts. Another 5.3L, I have a 98-00 LS1 cam and I have a 01-02 cam. What one would be better for a turbo setup?
If any difference at all.

Thanks,

Ls6 cam would be best. but I do think 01-02 cam is a lil bigger. (ls1) ls6 cams go for around 50 -100 bucks on this sight.

i bet there wouldnt be a damn bit of difference. I know you wanna use what you already got but Id look for a cheap 02+ Z06 cam.

I used an 03 Z06 cam with my TTi turbo kit. It worked fine, and I happen to have that cam for sale right now.

Thanks, but this is an extreme budget build, just want to use the parts i have, its just going to be a daily driver car. I used the 98-00 cam, it has more lift, a little more duration and the LS is a 119 compared to the 01-02's 115. But yea, i figured it probably wouldnt make much difference....just a thought.

It will shift the power band slightly over your stock 5.3l cam. Should be fun, we just made 825rwhp with a junk yard 6l.

I wouldn't think the differences would really matter.

I'm really interested in your current 5.3 setup, is there a post where I could read about the setup? What headers/mani's did you use?

My current setup was all custom made. Heres a site i have everything on....I havnt updated it in 2 years..lol. But i havnt done much else to it except ad a 50 shot of spray, that helps the 60fts out.

I would have to say an 02-04 z06 cam would be the best, but out of your two the earlier 98-00 cam is slightly larger than the 01-02 cam so put the older cam in.

I want to do a budget 5.3 for my '51 Merc, that sled needs 500rwhp.

I'll probably do something like a 22_/22_ single pattern though I'll probably source a used bumpstick.

pwrtrip75, sorry about the dog. I raised danes for a while. Great dogs but they don't hang around long enough.
