Cam for 385 LT4?
Sorry for another Cam choice thread, but I have no idea which cam would work the best with this engine I have...
-Ported & hand polished LT4 heads, Titanium retainers, SD1007 valve springs, and Manley Stainless Valves
-Block is "0" deck, 4.040 bore, clearanced for stroker crank, and 4 bolt main
-30lb injectors
-Port Matched LT4 intake
-Zero balanced rotating assembly: Callies Magnum 4340 Crank, Manley 5.7 Rods, JE Flat Top pistons, and file fit ring set
-10.4 CR
-Moroso 7 qt pan, Speed pro high volume oil pump, GM extreme duty timing set
-Manley Push Rods
-It makes 485 HP @ 6300RPM/467 lbft @ 4600 with the GM LT4 Hot Cam.
Is there any other cam that would push this over 500, and would it need new springs. Also, would solid lifters and cam be worth the money?
I am considering just putting this engine in my 95 TA, since I bought a 69 Camaro it is now getting all my money, and just getting the TA running again.
If I use this engine in the 95 TA it will get LPP SS 1 3/4 headers and new exhaust (either dual 3" or single 4"), and a Performabuilt Level II or III 4L60e with 2200-2400 stall for mainly street driving. The car has a Moser 9" with 3.50 gears. I want this engine to be FUN on the street, not much concern with 1/4 mile times. I just want to get all the HP and TQ I can out of it.
