Default LT1 To LS1 Problem

Im going from a lt1 a4 car and swapping in a ls1 t56 engine and trans. Got the motor in tonight but I snagged one small problem. The trans mount seems completly different, the holes are way off from lining up. Im using the ls1 t56 mount that was on the car. The car was in a rear impact did it get bend or will this trans crossmember not work. Thanks.

i had the same prob with my bros 94 but his was an auto, i am pretty sure they are different either way tho, i used half of the old one and half of the ls1 mount and welded them together and it worked.

Yeah the crossmembers are different between LT1 to LS1 cars. The body where they mount is also different, so if you were to come up with a LT1 T56 crossmember, it should bolt right in.

The TQ arm should be the same. I just did a 98ls1 into my 97 swap and the arm was fine.

Mine is about done also, i did the harness myself and saved the dough. It was only 8 or so wires that needed to move. But i think that is because i did a 97/98 swap, the most similar harnesses.

Did you bench bleed the clutch master off the car?

I messed with my clutch slave/master for hours trying to get it bled. Finally broke down and bought a mighty vac at autozone and was done in 10 minutes.

I didnt bench bleed it no. Im getting the snap on version of the mityvac tonight.

As for the wiring I didnt want to deal with it becaise I want this running before summers totally over. Figured leave it to someone who knows what they are doing. If I do another swap with some patience i will atempt the wiring. One less problem for me to worry about right now.

The best way to do the slave to the master, is to have a gun that will push the fluid from the slave up to the master. When you are a flat rate mechanic, you learn that the right tool will save you a ton of time. Saturn's are some of the worst to deal with.
The mighty vac will work, just make sure you clean it out throughly when you are done. I never like to leave mine with brake fluid trapped anywhere in it.

Well next problem im running the vette filter to convert the dual rails to the single rail. I pumped up the pressure yesterday and it was about 45 psi powering the pump manually. I left the gauge on there and the pressure never fell off. I have my feed line going to the big port on the dual inlet side of the filter and the return on the smaller of the lines. Is it possible I have these crossed? I was using a booster pack as well.

if i remember right, the smaller line on the inlet side of the vette filter setup is the inlet. one of the lines in in the center of the filter, the other line is offset more on the outside. the outside is the inlet.
