Default Goals for my car, reasonable?

I have a 95 vette and I was trying to gather some information about it. My goal for hp is around 550rwhp. I came from a 3000GT where you upgrade fuel/injectors/turbo setup and you have that. From what I've seen a h/c swap will get me in the neighborhood of 400-450hp from the lt1. Will I be needing f/c for my goal or can a built motor take me there. Basically I'm wondering if I should keep the vette or go with another car for the most efficient way to have a properly handling car with 500-550hp. I don't want to put all my money into just getting the power. Rebuilding the engine and then adding a supercharger/turbo setup for only 550 hp seems almost like a waste. I could also sound like an idiot.. either way what are your thoughts?

500-550 NA is possible, but prepare to spend alot of money. Its going to have to be a well built motor. Alot of work, but its been done before.

pull the motor down, get the heads ported, pick up a supercharger and put it back together w/ upgraded rods and a good set of pistons. thats going to be the most reliable way to get there.
if you are wanting to have a daily driver that you can put on the race track w/ 500+ rwhp you have chosen the wrong platform from a money stand point.

forged internals. blower or turbo, cam and pistons with a good valvetrain and you can have all the power you want.
It will be way more reliable than the 3000gt putting down that much power through the stock block.

Thing with our motors...550RWHP is a funny number to achieve, well nitrous aside anyways. If you just throw a Blower on it, thats possible, expect 400's though, maybe 500's with H/C. But then you look at building a motor and lowering the compression, run 13 lbs and be beyond that 550 mark by a substantial amount. Our cars are no slouches, plus i'd rather have a 450rwhp lt1 then a 550rwhp 3000gt
