Default lingenfelter Gt3 cam. Any good on a turbo ls1?

Hi guys. Im building up a turbo ls1 and was wondering if anyone here is using the gt3 cam. I got it for $40 from a friend and figured it would be better than the stocker.

Thanks for any input.

Yes, to answer your question, it IS better than the stocker....

How much more -will depend on your combination.

If you mean GT2-3 207/220 .571/.578 then yes it is one of the most popular DD cam choices for the FI guys. I know EPP has done several projects with this cam and have seen numbers well above 600rwhp. My future LQ9 FI build will be using this same cam. It is a tried and true choice.

Thanks guys! I will be using the following to start.

4" 32cc Je forged pistons
calli rods
241 heads machined to fit the correct bore
arp head studs
acl bearings
arp main studs
Gt3 cam
Comp pushrods
gold valve springs
ti retainers
MLS head gaskets
and my own custom turbo setup.

It is a 62mm turbonetics t04 external wastegate with crossover pipe.
I made 488hp to the wheels on a completely stock engine at only 9 psi. So this new setup I hope holds more boost reliably.

True cold air.

2400 lbs with a full tank of gas!

More turbo? I would entertain the idea. But since it is a drift car we are looking for the least amount of lag possible.

Any ideas?

I believe you can send that turbo to forced inductions and they can swap out your compressor wheel to up to a 76mm and it will spool almost just as fast as it does now, but make way more power.

On EPP's dyno through with the GT2-3 cam I did 500rwhp/490rwtq on my 98 with 104k. This was with a D1SC, bolt-ons, and 12bolt. Yes and a 6 speed. Great cam to daily drive and race with.

Thanks everyone. The Turbo is currently at turbonetics getting a rebuild. Can I just have them upgrade everything?

Also Im looking for turbo ls1 engine parts if anyone has anything.

yes you can tell them you want to largest compressor wheel that will fit in that cover I think you can put a 76mm in there and it will spool just as fast almost.

Thanks. I will give them a call tomorrow.

94. What specs are you looking for?

The sizes are.
2 to 3 " coupler out of the turbo. 3" aluminum to 3'' intercooler inlet. then 3'' out of the intercooler to a 3'' to 3.5'' coupler and to the 3.5'' throttle body pipe.

I am also located in cali and can help you fab piping if need be.

Thanks.

blu,
I was wondering how you routed your pipes to the turbo? It looks like you ran a pipe from the drivers side exhaust manifold to the turbo? Also, I know that good things(one bad *** #6 camaro) come out of goodies.

That was a slick way to introduce the ride. LOL

BTW, your aviater details MAY have a non-sponser's website displayed. They can be kinda of touchy about that, so you may want to remove that before one of the mods breaks out the old whip.
