Must not have a Torsen which I believe was available for the '97 SS. If not most likely the clutches are gone in the posi. I don't believe the 10-bolt posi is rebuildable.

Just do a burnout. Dont rely on others who think they saw something.

hey buddy i found i had the same problem. i went to the track and noticed something was wrong. when i was doing my burnouts. car steered to the left. when i launched it was nothing like it used to be, felt very weak. then i was told my right tire was barely spinning when burning out. its the posi. for me, the firmness of the shift kit, newly installed 373 gear, and mt's were just too much for the lil 10 bolt. but what bad tx z28 sed, if your not down for spending the money on a new rear end, just buy a new posi, thats what im doing for now.

Im fairly sure its just a limited slip diff in the car. Which is normal operation i believe. (correct me if im wrong). If you mash the gas right before the turn or as your coming out, it will kick out. Mine does the exact same thing.

Well on my car if i turn right and try to punch it ill get my passenger side wheel starting to spin. But when i turn left and punch it i can break the tires loose.

But i am on nitto d/r's which could be a problem... Im not literally punching it cause i know it will whip out when turning right. I think the stall is an issue also...

But other that that my rear is going strong.. On its 3rd set of 3.73's and still on the stock posi and 10 bolt... 120K miles too.
