Default car spontaneously die's..any suggestions??

95' LT1 trans am
66,000 miles
minor bolt-on's

the problem im having with my car is that every once in awhile i will be driving or at a stand still and the engine will just shut off. If i let it sit for a minute or two it will start back up.

things i have replaced:

battery
altenator
coil
ignition module
plugs/wires were done a month ago
checked fuel pressure turned out good~52lbs (but maybe when the engine dies its loosing fuel pressure??)
vacum and fresh air is hooked up properly

it threw a code one time ...code 41 loss of 5volt power to coil

so i re-did wiring to the coil since prior owner messed with that area and cleaned computer with eletrical cleaner and used di-eletric grease on connector

car ran perfect for 5-600 miles and just acted up on me again today 3 times

does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on what to do?

im planning on putting in new fuel pump this weekend and possibly a new computer

any help would be appreciated
thanx

What exactly did you fix when you "redid" the wiring around the coil......Were there wires rubbed through or damaged?

when the opti spark goes out doesn't it make the car stumble?? the reason im asking this is because when my car dies, it dies immediately all at once

The opti could cause a stumble, but it can also just straight up die as you describe (usually when the high resolution signal goes, the car will start up and run but die all at once....But start back up the next second).

I would start with that wiring you fixed, as obviously this fixed the problem before. If somebody half assed wiring there, then who knows where else.

You could have moved the wiring just enough before (while working on it) to cause wires that could have been grounding to seperate....Making your car run perfect for 5-600 miles. Then, just ground out on eachother again causing the same problem......

No new codes either right?

okay i will look into buying an opti-spark since that could more than likely be it and if not it can be one more thing checked off the list LoL

- correct....no new codes have popped up, even when it dies it still does not throw a code

i will look through the wiring once again just to make sure nothing is grounding
thanks for the suggestions guys any help is appreciated
