Default Scrap the Cat, is it worth it?

Hi ls1tech guys,
Has anyone out there got dyno results of before and after removing the catalytic converter?
I am going to get a headers to tips exhaust system for my 84 z28 and I don’t know if I should scrap the cat to gain HP because here in England it is not necessary on a car of this age.

Since they are not required where you are I would not bother putting any on the car.
I ran a 'gutted' cat a few years ago (for testing purposes only of course). The gains we saw were 2-3 hp on several pulls. Not a lot but every little HP helps.

Depends on the motor, exhaust you plan on running.....It may gain you a hp or 2, but I will be honest. i put cats on my tru dual system because without them, I couldnt stand the drone in the car. I can sacrifice 2 hp for piece of mind

x2, the gains are not worth the smell of gas inside the cabin either

you gain about 2HP and you can sell them for near $200.

the only downside is the smell, and a little more rasp.

+1 for the cats.

I used to get headaches from my car when I gutted it.
