My wife is deploying to Baghdad USAF She will be doing her job airfield management. Anyone ever deploy there? any advice? How bad is it at the airport? JW im civilian. Her last deployment was Qatar so nothing to worry about there. LOL

i was in the green zone. It wasnt to bad, they still get car bomb's and random firing. But for the most part it is pretty safe. Baghdad has the best PX and food out of any base in Iraq, she will like it. Oh and Qatar is not a "deployment" its a get-a-way vacation HAHAHAHAHA, i wish i could get stationed there.

BIA is not bad at all, she'll hear the ocasional BOOM from a car bomb ever now and then and maybe a few late night RPGs shot at the base but from what I have seen the Hajis are not very accurate.lol 95% of the time to dont hit ****. Is she going to do a 365 day tour? I just did 120 days and it flew by.

I am at Sather AB right now and it isn't that bad, we have had a few bombings but nothing too major, she will like it here, there are a few things to do in you spare time, tons of places to go see off duty.

So the airport is a pretty safe place for ****. OP just tell your wife to make friends with a couple and hang out with them and she should be ok.

Dude-She will be fine. As you already been thru a deployment with her. You know what your wife needs from you. As for these F-up comments. I told mine the same-she didnt find it funny,. Ive been around Bahgdad in a helo doing stuff. The green zone is cool and her job sounds like it will keep her plenty busy. BTW. Why did you tune your car SD? Just wondering
