Default Finally finished my Nitrous Outlet 58mm LT1 plate install

It took me a while, but I finally got it done. Man I work slow !!

I still have to tidy up a couple of wires and give the beaSSt a wash, but other then that, I'm ready to go !!

Just for info.

1994 "Caprice SS"
383ci. LT1
GM 846 cam
Eagle Steel crank
ported and polished heads, pro-magnum roller rockers
balanced rotating assembly
BBK 58mm throttle body
Nitro Dave's 58mm plate system w/purge
860 automatic bottle heater
Mallory 685 box
3200 stall Edge converter
3.73 rear gears
PCMForLess tuning

Now on to the N2O install !!

The arming switch and the purge are located in the ashtray and a few "system status" LED's are just under the gauge cluster.

Hard lines run from the solenoids mounted back where the EGR was located up front, to the plate.

Then the bottle is mounted in the 860 bottle heater, in the trunk. The blowoff tube exits into the area behind the taillight, which is outside of the trunk.

I even managed to get the wife to hit the purge for me, so I could snap a few pics !!

Fresh oil and a filter change, plus a new fuel filter and I'll be off to the dyno. Hopefully in the next couple of days.

Later,
Brad

Thanks guys. It took me a while, but I'm finally happy with how it looks. Now I just gotta see how it runs !

Dave, I've been meaning to get some info on your customer page, but I wanted to get it finished first.

Thanks again,
Brad

Default 461 hp, 463 ft-lbs

Just got back from the dyno this afternoon. Had a good day. The car behaved itself and everything went off without a hitch.

Nitro Daves plate works great. Sure is easy to swap jets and be ready to go again!!

On the motor only ,the car put down

335 hp
341 ft-lbs

and on a 150 shot through Dave's 58mm LT1 plate system.

461 hp
463 ft-lbs

No hiccups what-so-ever. Everything worked exactly as it was supposed to. Big thumbs up to Nitrous Outlet for all the great parts and for the help they provided as well.

Now I just got to get it to the track .....

Thanks guys !

Brad

Thanks again Dave. I'm sure there is more left in the car. I just need to get the time to have it dyno tuned in person. Hopefully I can get a time set up with Bryan Herter and see what last little bit he can wring out of it !!

Of course there is always another 50hp worth of jets sitting on my workbench !!!

I've been searching for clean Nitrous installs on LT1s... I have to say that yours takes the cake. Best install I've seen yet. Nice and clean, not cluttered. I was looking for an alternative to just sticking the 'noids on the fuel rails, and the way you ran your hard lines look PIMP.

Thanks !!

My primary goal was not a "hidden" system, but I didn't want it to be immediately noticeable. Most people do not notice the nitrous system until they look in the trunk. Then they look under the hood again, to see what they missed.

It is easily picked out by even the most novice N2O user, but it is pretty stealthy.

Thanks again,
Brad

Just got back from the track. It's my first time ever running nitrous and things went pretty well. I've got a couple bugs to work out, but even with some hiccups I ran a best of 12.47 @ 110.5mph. Not to bad for a big ol' bloated 4 door !!
