Default 08 C6 LS3 STOCK Vs American Racing Longtubes/MagnaFlow Catback

Well time FINALLY allowed us to get our shop C6 on a rack to install Phase I of a lengthy list of mods...

Step I- Baseline C6
Step II- Install American Racing 1 7/8 Longtubes/3x3 Catted X pipe/MagnaFlow Catback
Step III- Back on the dyno to see the gains......

Results are below. Remember EVERYTHING else is 100% stock with the exception of the exhaust

The next Phase of mods includes the installation of a VaraRam Induction and then back on the dyno to see the gains with the VaraRam and then doing WOT tuning..

After that, we are going inside the motor... Getting a set of fully worked LS3 heads from TEA and running our Stage III camshaft/Pulley/thermostat...

I will keep everyone updated on the process step by step.

Thanx to Nick @ American Racing for a QUALITY Header System for our C6!!!

Every great intake needs a great exhaust. Nice apples to apples comparison.

I'm interested in the final results. I can't believe how easy it is to make power with the LS3. I guess it only makes sense though...LS3>LS1. I love technology.

Great info. Better Tq #'s than my H/C SS & just shy of my rwhp #'s. I need one of these. Procharge it and be done. Don't even screw with the H/C route.

I officially hate anyone who buys has an LS3, lol. Man, I'm not crazy about the looks, but that motor is almost reason enough to trade up to a new Camaro when they come out.

Awesome comparision, thanks!

I think Patrick was refering to the fact that stock the intake side of the engine flows more than the exhaust can handle (the exhaust being a restriction at stock levels) hence the nice gains.

I see if the factory c6 intake really that good? Does an aftermarket intake get any real world gains?

Wow, I wish my GTO had an LS3. You made 24+ rwtq than me, and 14 less rwhp, and I have heads/cam! There's no Repalcement for Displacement!
