Default cut-outs?

i'm thinking about putting some cut-outs on my exhaust, but i'm not sure what will happen. i want to put them on before the cats but if i do that i'm car will throw like a rich code because of the o2's right? will this hurt my power? it's my dd so i dont want to run it without the cats, but i would also like the extra power from stop light to stop light. thanks for the help.

Most people run their Cutouts after their LTs on their O/R Y or on their I-pipe right before it goes over the axle.

I take it you mean before the factory cats? I don't think that would be a good placement nor would it be easy to place and have them last

If your car is stock then I don't see the cutouts fitting before the cats.

and at that placement on a stock exauhst you would lose power due to lack of back pressure more than likely

Put one on the I pipe, passenger side. Otherwise you will need to make a custom setup.

Put mine on the I Pipe love it open pretty much all the time. I would only get a electric if you plan on opening closing frquently. Once you hear it rip open you'll never want to close it. Great mod until I can get headers

No no no no no. Backpressure is bad. Smaller pipes help increase torque because smaller pipes increase exhaust velocity, not because they increase backpressure. If you could have smaller pipes without increasing backpressure that would be ideal, but it won't happen. Backpressure is not what increases torque though, its the increase in exhaust velocity that does.

i dont have stock exhaust. right now i'm running SLP LT with high flow cats into there loud mouth exhaust system. i am wanting the electric cutouts, i'll only have them open when i am racing. i just thoght it would be louder and have more power before the cuts. i started my race the other day w/o the exhaust on and i like the way it sounds, but i dont think i could handle it all the time. thanks for the help and if you have any other suggestions please let me know.

cutouts need to be 16-18 in. after front 02's to insure the 02's are reading correct ( not seeing fresh air )
just my $0.02
