Another "PROJECT RETRO" Update (Aug 27th)
Found some time to work on the car, so there will be many updates in the next few days. For today, I needed to figure out a way to mount the Genesis battery up front (near the stock location). For this, I needed to fabricate a custom hold down bracket. You ask why I didn't just buy one, well that would kind of spoil all the fun.
So I bought some 1/8" steel, took some measurements and starting cutting, bending, grinding, and welding, and this is what developed:
Notice how I hinged the braket at the top so it only requires one bolt, and the battery can be removed easily if needed. Here is what it looks like during the test fit:
So then I removed the battery and welded the hinge to the front framework of the car and added some paint:
On the other side of the bay, I remounted the line lock solenoid and ran new lines from the master. I just employed the stock lines for the front brakes. Everything received the same black paint after installing:
I received my Pacesetter uncoated headers from the nice folks at Texas Speed yesterday. Here is a pic of my ENTIRE exhaust system:
I got to scraping and welding to add flanges to the headers and to weld the collectors for the bullet style mufflers:
Tomorrow, I will sand blast the black paint off the headers and apply the Eastwood products shown here that I ordered as a kit:
The small pint can is for the headers, and the spray can is for the remainder of the exhaust. The brushes were also supplied in the kit.
More updates to come!

Just a little warning. I used the eastwood coating on my uncoated paceseters after completely stripping them, and it just peeled off after 5 minutes of engine idle. Its crap! just like all other 'header paint"
I would suggest looking into something else

Re: Another
I've also tried a few header paints and nothing lasted more than a week before flaking off. Kinda sucks! Might want to send them off to Jet-Hot. Nice battery bracket!
Nice welds also, what kind of welder do you have and how much did it cost? (shopping )

Re: Another
Just using a Lincoln Pro Core 100 I bought at Lowes. It does fine for light duty stuff and uses 110v.
I hope my luck is better than you guys with the Eastwood stuff. You said you stripped them, but sand blasting them may get better adhesion (hoping as I type). :fingers crossed:
