Default LT1 internals???

what is the difference between the LT1 crank and the crank of any other one piece rear main 350? also is there more limitations to stroking on an LT1. id like to try and pull 427 cubes out of mine. is that possible?? am also planning on going to the GM847 cam. any ideas?

thanks in advance

correct me if im wrong someone, but i think the bottem end of an lt1 is the same as a 1 piece rear main 350 smallblock. Ive seen a lot of guys go 383 and 396 but im not sure if you can go 427.

right about the crank, it is a plain-jane late model small block crank. you will not get 427 cubes from a LT1. nowhere near enough material in the block to cover the bore or stroke of a small block that size. cam is too low as well

Build is destined for failure since you are focused on maximm cubes and a mediocre off the shelf cam and never even thought to mention heads. In otherwords you are focusing on everything but the one thing that matters most. If you follow through bet someone with a 355 teaches you a hard leason about what you should have done different.

well perhaps you should have asked about my current mods, and even more so about my current heads. seeing as my heads were hand build by MTI and are stage 2 valves with stage 3 porting, im pretty sure they will hold up just fine. but thank you for your negative concerns. and if you have that 355, then by all means, lets dance....

Thing is a 350 vs. a 427 may not want the same heads?? so even if they are working wonderfully now, they may not on a 427.

Still sporting a GM 350 shortblock.
