Default Question about WS6 lower air box

I bought my 02 Trans Am with a K&N FIPK installed already. I am going back to a lid/FRA setup to draw air from underneath the car, which is the best way an f-body gets air . I know that the WS6 lower airbox has a much larger opening on the front, but since I am going to be doing an FRA setup with the lid, drawing air from underneath, could I use a regular Trans Am/Z28 lower airbox? I would think so since I will be sealing up the front of the box anyway, but I just wasnt sure if there would be any issues(fitment, clearance, etc)??

everything will fit fine. a lot of people using FTRA will actually block the hole off by the lid anyways so you shouldn't have a problem running a standard base.

Well thats exactly what Im gonna do, seal up the front of the airbox. I just didnt know if there was any other differences in the lower air box that would inhibit it fitting correctly. Anyway, it looks like I found a WS6 lower air box so all is good. Thanks fellas
