oil pressure question

oil pressure question Recently picked up an 01 ls1 and noticed that at idle the oil pressure guage does like a slight ticking like action right just above to just below 40. When I accelerate the pressure inclines smoothly. From the searches I've done here it may either be the sending unit or the pump. How do I know which? The car has 45K miles on it. I notice it mostly when the car is fully warmed up. thanks in advance.
