Default turbo fabrication question

i just finished up my setup and am getting ready to get on it alittle, it is a 88mm 370 setup with the radiator moved vertical. i have a harwood cowl hood and with my intercooler setup the lower curb guard wont be able to go back on. do i have to worry about too much air getting in the car up there. it might sound foolish but i just know that with the grill cut out and everything moved i wouldnt want a 140mph surprise. also does it benefit to open up the back of the cowl. my seals to the wiper cowl. would it be better to let the air pass through. thanks for the help.

Yes its better to let air pass through, thats one of the benefits to a cowl hood, they do a wonderful job of evacuating heat.

where do i cut, anyone have a picture? do cut the entire area out, or holes? mine is a cowl but is closed off and seals on the wiper cowl, the only thing it is doing is giving me clearance under the hood. other than that no air coming out

At the base of the window, where the cowl opens up, there is a high pressure of air there. Opening up the cowl will surely cool things down, but it will also pressurize under the hood. Air goes in at the back of the hood, not out. its a common misconception.

Wow... I won't even ask how many hours it took, in the tunnel, to figure that one out...

Take a look at the cowl induction hoods from the 60's and 70's. Its not a new idea.
The rake of the windshield creates a low pressure spot at the base, making it a great area to pick up fresh cool air.

lower curb guard

I do know there is a air damn/deflector at the bottom of the radiator support, its there for a reason and guarding against curbs isn't one of them. The 4th gen f body is designed to cool from the bottom, that deflector pulls up air across the radiator core. The car will overheat if it isn't there....don't know about cars with the front end hacked for a IC, so this will be interesting to see.
