honestly, there is an old saying "a lid is a lid is a lid" They both are great lids, just depends if you want a clear one for 30 bucks more!

I have heard of the clear ones cracking on some cars. I like my slp lid just fine but I've seen some SLP lids that rub the hood, pretty hard to go wrong with a piece of plastic. I wouldn't pay alot of money for one IMO.

a lid is a lid. i'd go with the cheaper slp lid, and can't beat the quality of the slp lid.

No, mine didnt. You can just clean it off if it does. It's plastic, cleans easily.

Really looks nice under the hood as well if your someone who likes to admire his engine as well as being able to tell if your air cleaner is dirty...LOL

I've had both an SLP lid and a clear lid. SLP lids are EVERYWHERE, and are like all other black lids. It depends on what you're going for. You'll ALWAYS get a compliment on the clear lid, it's a very unique lid. For those who talk about it cracking a lot. They don't know how to securely fasten it. For some it fits amazing, for a few others, it takes a little playing around with (very little). Overall, i chose to keep my MTI lid and am ordering another for my other Z. I love the look of it and so does everyone who looks under the hood. Hope that helps. It's definately worth the few extra bucks... No one will look at an slp twice. The clear lid on the other hand....

yea i've had my lid pushing 3 years now. Every 3 or so months i take it off and give it a quick wipe, that's all it takes... It's ridiculous to find these lids now.

From what I've read MTI has the best fitting and best performing lids. I have a black MTI lid myself and I'm more than happy with it.

I've had my clear lid for over 5 years. It still looks the way it did the day I bought it. I've had it on and off numerous times as well.
