Ok heres the dilemma. I found out when I went to get my gears installed that My carrier has a crack in it. The gear install is $280 and new carrier is ????? . Now the guy doing the gear install has a fresh rebuilt 10 bolt with 3.42's sitting at his house that he wants $600 for. But its a 3 channel and I have a 4 channel. I would have to reuse the axles from my 4 channel BUT!! of course, one the axle's in my rearend is going bad so I would need to buy a new or used one. Or I can buy a used rear for $350 at a local shop. However, I dont know the history of the used rear. What should I do??

and buying a 12 bolt isnt a option at this point.

Here are the Moser replacement axles for the 10 bolt. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com/performance_parts/index.html?item=1341
Either way you go, you're going to have some serious change in a 10 bolt that eventually is bound to break on you. I'd find a used 12 bolt or 9 inch before I went with another 10 bolt. Bob

Too bad you don't live closer to me (I'm in Dayton, OH)...I'm getting ready to sell my used 10-bolt, 4-channel with 3.42s...good luck though. I can tell you, though, it is worth it when you finally get a rear end worth fixing (like a 12-bolt or larger).
