Default P1 question

Hey guys i have the p1 procharger set up and i been reading here that they change the air intake and the air filter to the blower to the 9 inch filter and the boost goes up i have the 7psi with the 2 inter coolers and have never seen 7psi on my boost gage. i checked for leaks and everything looks good! If i do change it do i have to retune it????

If you change things around, most likely you will need to retune the car as the MAF is already maxed out or is close to being maxed out.

There are alot of variables.
Whats your setup?
Cam, exaust, heads, etc.
Another big factor is where you live, or more specifically, what the density altitude is.

Are you running a 6 rib or 8 rib? What size pulley are you running? You may not be running a pulley small enough for the boost you want or you might have belt slip. Or better yet you might have both going on at the same time.

There is no set pulley for making x amount of boost. The reason is due to many variables such as: Does the car have headers or exhaust manifolds, cats, cat back exhaust, cam, heads, cubic inch, elevation, etc. Say you are making 8 psi with a bone stock Camaro and you add headers, better flowing cats and a cat back exhaust. You will find your boost level now at somewhere around 6.5 psi, as the system is less restrictive now. To get the boost back to 8 psi a smaller pulley will need to be installed on the blower, and possibly a shorter belt. There is a number stamped on the side of the pulley, so that you know which one you have now.
When I place a ProCharger order, I take into account all of the above variables, so that the customer gets the psi he or she is looking for. Bob

ASP makes a larger crank pulley from what I understand. I use to use one from Mike Morgan, who no longer produces them. You can still find the Morgan ones used every now and then. Bob
