Cool Dynoed again on DynoDynamics!

View Video on FQuick

This is my 2nd time dynoing on the same dyno which is a dynodynamics. The first time I did it I was bone stock. My car is a 2002 Camaro SS Convertible with a 6-speed.<(that's an edit)

Bone stock that day I did:

275.3rwhp ~289rwtq

Lid and kn:
287.7rwhp ~303rwtq

Flywheel:
347.5fwhp ~360fwtq< Probably with the lid and filter.

This time I went with a full list of bolt ons minus a electric water pump, aftermarket maf, and intake manifold. Most of those would be useless to me right now anyway. I've also got all the free mods. I think I do anyway.

Today with ~all free mods and full bolt ons I did:

Boltons:
333.6rwhp~328rwtq< I guess regular mode like the first two above

Boltons in Shootout Mode:
348.8rwhp~336rwtq<Shootout Mode ( I don't know what that means )

Now for the main event(ITS WHAT SUPRISED ME)

Flywheel:
426.9fwmfhp!!! ~413fwmftq!!!

12% to the "boltons" one above for dynojet numbers gives 374rwhp & ~367rwtq!!!

What do you guys think of my numbers???

btw a 2002 bolton ss m6 was dyno tuned at the same place on the same dyno. It wasn't full bolt on but some intake like a lid and full exhaust. The thing is this one had a small cam so says the shop owner!!! Just watched the video again and it said stock heads and cam... anyway I got 2 more rwhp than he did with my mail order tune from Trifecta Performance!!!

I agree, DD read VERY low, 5 stock C6 Z06s read from 360-370rwhp on a Dyno Dynamics here in Dubai, then my 5PSI supercharged Z did 515RWHP and a friends 530RWHP

I am very pleased with my numbers... I just wanted to get it dynoed in stages so I did it bone stock and with full bolt-ons. Next time I'll do it will be when I install my cam.

oh ****! I just read post #5 clearly... it says that 5 stock c6 z06s read from 360-370rwhp... are you freaking serious? I know it weighs 400-600lbs less than my car but I thought it had WAY more power than that!

No honestly!! In fact we called it the ego-breaker dyno

And it has nothing to do with our hot weather we dynoed our cars in winter. Now some shops re-calibrate their DD to read like DynoJets, since I could easily say that dynojets are the norm all around the world when it comes to HP benchmarking, DD are more of a tuning dyno than a number reading dyno. Try to get your car on a Dynojet and tell us what happens!!

dyno dynamics like any other dyno can be "programed and corrected to read SAE" you need to ask the shop if the numbers are "corrected to sae"

I'd be more inclined to believe track times than those dyno numbers...after all, they are only numbers.

Extrapolating numbers from a DD to a DJ and to FW is really ricer math. The numbers are what the numbers are. Hell, comparing one DJ to another DJ on different days with different conditions with different operators is BS. SAE correction is helpful but still doesn't tell the whole story. Your numbers look OK. Settle for that.

The numbers are what the numbers are.

so you're saying I'm a ricer because I used a ball field percentage to figure the conversion between dyno to dyno? You're also saying that dynodynamics and dynojet read the same numbers on the same car because, "The numbers are what the numbers are," right?

Basically I think your post was a bunch of bullsh:t... sorry

After I did the conversions for dj, they seemed really close to what djs read for these cars with the same mods.

I'm sure that '01 6spd vette(full exhaust, some intake, and a tune) who's *** got busted by my ss would beg to differ too! That was from 2 rolls!

I kinda knew mine would get lower numbers on his because everybody else's does. They're all consistently lower on his. I was mainly using it to measure gains though. I don't know of any dynojets around here. When I move I'll have to locate a dynojet though. I'm pretty confident that I've still got more than 350rwhp. As of right now one thing I definitely need more of is traction!

Today the local DynoJet was open and I heard from a little bird that they were doing $15/pull today. I made my way out and got my '02SS and my girl's '00 GT dynoed. My girls car is bone stock and made 229rwhp and 272rwtq. I was impressed by the torque number. They ran mine the first time while I was reluctant because my car wasn't warmed all the way up (160*)and I got 335rwhp and 353rwtq. The shop owner, I think, felt that wasn't right by listening to my car(loud as hell), but he GAVE me another go for free and I put down 344rwhp corrected and 360rwtq corrected. My best uncorrected dj #s were 363rwhp and 380rwtq.

corrected:
344rwhp/360rwtq

Std:
363rwhp/380rwtq

put in the racetrack and see what it traps. dynos are tuning tools. the only numbers that mean anything are the ET and TRAP SPEED.

so your ricer math was only off 30rwhp?

Andrew's dyno is a heartbreaker for sure, my 96 Cobra only put down 525rwhp on that dyno

That's andrew's math hahaha. it is what it is. I only want as much power as I can put on the ground anyways. When I get the feeling like I've got more power than I can easily keep on the ground I look for more traction mods and so on. I'm really liking my torque though. I don't know how big a difference it makes but on my dj dyno they didn't put the fan to the front for some reason...? Maybe I could've gotten another 10rwhp

Just goes to show those DD numbers with the guess a percentage to inflate the numbers to read like a DJ were way off.

Thanks for providing real world before and after results that the dial you hp numbers is extremely inaccurate and misleading.

A local shop to me did the same thing and the "corrected to read like a DJ" numbers were always 3-5% higher than the 2 shops with DJ's close by.

The OP's results were only 30rwhp higher than his actual DJ numbers lol.
