most any cam on an auto will need tuning, to raise the idle at least, but some people get away with it with just drilling the TB hole or manually raising the idle... u could try mild cams like the comp 216/220-.523/.527-114, or the TR220(220/220-.553/.553-114)... anything bigger will most likely need tuning... i noticed u changed gears, but not the converter... a good converter will get u more than the cam will... something around 3200-3600, with a 2.5str will wake up the car (vig 2800 or yank ss3600)

shorty headers r a waste of money, at least get Macs... the converter will spin the engine into the powerband faster, but will act like stock once the converter locks up at speed... not too sure about the 'old man' cam, has alotta lift, but low duration on a 115lsa, so it shouldn't lope much... u should end up in the 360-370rwhp range most likely...

BTW - BBK has a new shorty header out it has 1 3/4 inch primaries unlike the shorty Hooker/JBA's with the 1 5/8 primaries. I don't know anything else about the BBK's but they might be the best shorty, if your going to fool with shorties. East Coast and TByrne sell them.

Since I don't have an A4, I'm not really sure about cam advice. I think the TR220 is a great cam all in all.
