Cool How much of a gain will I see from a SLP ypipe ?

I have a stock car looking for more power without using headers does the slp ypipe really adds more power and if so how much?

It will help some Im sure...but on the exhaust side of things Long Tube headers are where the real power is...is there a reason why you dont want to run headers?

I had the slp y to stock cats at one time. I hardly noticed any gain over the stock y. Waste of money IMHO.

The main restriction of exhaust flow is in the Stock manifolds. Im unsure as your reasoning for not wanting to go with headers, but you should deff reconsider. The stock y (although poorly designed) doesn't constrict that much on a stock motor.

a little increase in sound. Also a thud everytime u take off hard and it hits the floorboard...

maybe 2-3RWHP...maybe...

save the $200 and out it towards a nice set of LT's

u might notice a lil gain but it wont be anything spectacular!

im with these guys, why dont u want to run headers? with exhaust that will be ur biggest gain in performance and sound

Aftermarket Y w/ stock manifolds = waste of time.
You'd be better off buying a set of LTs and keeping the stock Y n catback til you can get a set you like.

LTs are what you want. A Y don't add much.
Like everybody else said the manifolds are the real restriction.

I went with the SLP y-pipe several years ago... and gained absolutely nothing! However it looked far better than the stock unit and ground clearance was still good.

The real gain came when I did LT headers. And it sounded better too.

I'm with the others. The real restriction is at the manifolds.

You should be in the 12s too with the mods in your sig. Were you modded then?

If your spinning too much get better tires or use some throttle control.

I put an SLP y-pipe on my car when I had shorties. I don't think I gained any power, just a clunk. I'm thinking of taking off my longtubes at the moment, and if I do, I will be using the stock(pancake) y-pipe with shorties or 00+ manifolds. I'd rather not scrape or clunk, and I'll sacrifice the .5 flywheel hp the slp y will add lol.
