Default going carbed, gauge question....

well since i am going carbed and not useing a normal wire harness, i have a question.

i have a full set of vdo gauges, they are all electronic. oil pressure, water temp, ect, ect.

my question is, can i use the factory oil pressure sender and water temp sender to run my gauges?

is there anything special i need to do to make this work?

You will probably need matching VDO senders. Even if you were going injected, the pcm harness doesn't control the gauges.

well i know you can tap into the harness and run them on a injected car.

my questio is, what do i need to do to make the sensors read?

do they need a ground? any sort of power?

i run a carb and a factory set of gauges. i used an lt1 oil pressure switch for the pressure. your vdo sendor may work, but my autometer didnt read right.
i used the sendor from the autometer gauge with a metric adapter and it works like a champ.

I have an LS2 Datsun with a full set of functioning guages. you just need to get creative plumbing the original sensors into the new motor.

The instructions for your VDO guages should answer all the questions you are asking.
