Smile Pin On Hood Quick Pics

Been super busy and going on 3 months, but finally got the VFN pin on painted and the hood pins powder coated.

Dont hate I know she's dirty..

Got the front signal blackouts on the way, I want to clean up the headlights too.

Anyhow I'm happy!

When I clean her up and get the other things done I'll get better pics.

Man I don't understand why you wouldn't "Upgrade" since you already decided on buying a new hood. All their hoods weigh about the same man, give or take a half pound. Either way, at least you went with VFN, can't complain there

Simple, save weight... do I have to say more? 60 to 10lbs is a no brainer.

Its a Z28, and besides is kinda of a sleeper look. I have always been about the less is more mindset.

Just FYI, I also deleted the front bumper support. Car handles great and I'm right over 3200lbs...give or take a few lbs.

You know what, I totally forgot about the whole sleeper approach.

I understand weight reduction. I don't see why you went to such lengths for it. You bought a pin on hood which is about ugly! Only hood that should have pins on it is a 67 shelby mustang. You chose 20 pounds over making your car look 10X better. If this isn't going to be an all out drag car you're an idiot.

First of all, if i remember correctly this is my car.. and to each his own.

Second of all, I'm just going to treat your post as your opinion, and leave it at that.

The part thats funny is how you are calling me an idiot, without knowing anything about me or my car. I guess your math is a little out of wack..

stock hood 55lbs
pin on hood 10lbs

!front bumper! 20lbs

stock battery 35lbs
light weight battery 17lbs

Thats around 80lbs gone from the front of the car. Never said she was a show car either.

Anyone who actually drives their car hard, drag or road race can appreciate over 150lbs in weight reduction.

I just showing you my hood geez! I'm not trying to rub it in anyones face on how better it is than an SS hood.

I have seen way uglier mods, with better responses.

Ignore the appearance snobs. I like it.

Your car is YOUR car, do with it as you wish. Lord knows there are enough UGLY F-Bodies around my area, but I keep my mouth shut.

I plan on doing a pin-on sometime soon on my car, was gonna do it this year, but ran short of money. I'm gonna do the VFN Sunoco though.

Ha Ha, I know exactly what you mean! I had a decent budget for a few other things, but....
**** happens.

Old Stereo was stolen, so I had to replace it. -$150
A/C is going out...-$1k or so, I want a warranty.

Ok then...How hard is it to understand that LIGHTER = FASTER?

I'm really not all that into all show no go process.

And so this is what I get for posting on this part of the forum.

BTW, I think that is more of a performance modification than an appearance. Appearance wise, hood pins.

I think the weight savings totally makes up for it. Can you post up some pics of how the hood pins are mounted/with the hood off?
