What the hell? Can anyone think of any reason why that GTO didn't walk all over the G8 like it was standing still? Am I missing something or did the cammed and full bolt-on GTO just hang with the near stock G8 GT?

I ran one and really did not begin any good pulls on him until 110 and above. The G8 is a fast car from 60.

Intake, Catback and Tune puts that car in the 460 gross horsepower range, and probably mid 12's easy.

What rwhp range does it put it in? Because that GTO should be in the high 300rwhp range minimum and doesn't weigh any more than the G8.

I would say that car should be in the vicinity of 350 RWHP with those mods.

Actually when using a 15% average loss from crank to tire the RWHP number would be closer to 380, with those mods.

I would think the GTO would fair better against the G8 too, but maybe these G8s are just that good. I guess we'll find out when more of them start getting modded.

I dnt think that the gto will make that much through a stalled auto.... Will it? I have heard that those g8's do really well with a tune and a couple bolt ons.

these G8 GTs are doing amazingly well this isnt really a shock. The GTs give the 6.0 GTO a run for its money and the GXP will be absolutely amazing.

Well, I see in the thread that the GTO is an 04 LS1 and it has a stall. The G8 is pretty similar in weight, has more displacement, and is not losing hp through a stall. I can see that happening from a roll.

I imagine the GTO would win at the strip, but let's not bench race.

I'm not bench racing. Just asking questions because I'm shocked as hell. I knew the G8s responded well to mods, but damn. That thing moves against that cammed GTO.

Ive read quite a bit about the G8 and I bet the reason it was ahead was its transmission. They are using that 6 speed automatic that is in the vette. According to some of the reviews it is one of the best autos gm has ever made. A good transmission will make a HUGE difference in getting that power to the wheels. Im not sure if thats why the goat was behind, just the only way I could figure why it was.

I was talking about myself, not anyone in particular.
