Automotive Careers - A job under 18?

I'm going to greenville tech now for automotive and have been tinkering with cars since my early teen years, but everywhere i go for a job in automotive i get the same answer "you must be 18". i'm 17 now and have another six months to go before i'm 18. any ideas on places to work that hire under 18?

Assume you've tried small independent shops?

Those two R.I.P vehicles. Those aren't crash car are they? Employers look at driving records also.

Yes, tried a good many independents...and didn't know that about the crash records, only the trans am is a crash, the SVT burt itself to the ground

savannah tire but i dont know where really greenville is located so but yea i worked at savannah tire from 17 to 20 years old

im in the same boat... 17 for another couple months, try private shops

check the regional section...maybe someone with a shop near you can be a bit lenient
