Arrow What is it? Money, pissed off people?

the last few years it seemed there where people braking new bests every week, cars running great numbers weekend after weekend, etc etc.
whats up with this year?
is it economy, gas price, people getting out of racing, or in my case, lost a little intrest in giving so much to racing and it never gives anything back, so im taking the summer off and running in nice cool weather so im happy and comfortable.

what is it? just seems real slow.
im guessing $$ is a big part. seems everything is going up and up exept people pay checks

Honestly, I made a bunch of changes to the car, mainly so I can hit it harder, and none of them did anything to make it any faster (need to add more power now)

But I have a bunch of other things that need to be taken care of first that are more important, and I'm taking a break for a while. Sucks, because I'm about 3 grand away from probably going another 1/2 second faster, but I just can't do it right now.

Some of the reason is economy, some of it is the cost of racing with the fuel prices, some is just because I've ignored a couple other things that now just need to be done.

Bottom line, I can afford to build a car, not at record speed, but I can do it, and I can afford to race, but I can't do both at the same time and still do everything else that needs to be done.

So, the car's taking a rest for a while. I'll freshen it up over the winter, and when it comes back out, it's gonna blast off a good bit faster then it is now

A combination of things, my stuff has been apart since last October and i'm just getting ready to drop the engine back in the car. So that has been because of $$ and also waiting for the machine shop as well. Also, i've been trying to save $$ and it's hard to devote money you have to a hobby when you're also trying to save.

Soon enough i'll have the n2o completely setup and we'll see if we can shoot for 8's by the end of the year

glad to see its still going on!!

i'll be back in a couple weeks, weather here has sucked anyway but in a few weeks it should be 70ish outside during the day, and im going to go mess around again. if i dont sell my tranny i will finish the year with my same set up, then this winter put all new parts inside, and get my 400 in the car with 200-250 and see if i can run better then 8.9's

I'm far from done, if a few different situations come together the right way I'll be back out with a little more steam

Maybe, at the end of the season I'll bring it out one more time with a little more aggressive tuneup, see what the litte plate setup can push the car to.

I changed jobs and moved to a new area which costed me about 9-12 months. Then I built a TT LS2 Vette, which made the T/A wait even longer...

a broekn rear end if that mod list includes your suspension if you have suspension I'd say some solid 9s

Tuff your setup is impressive to say the least. That's a serious piece of hardware under the hood, and I'm sure that you're leaving a solid .4 on the table when running a 8.3

I've notice a HUGE slow down.. specially in this section. Over the last year there's been so many new advances it's not even funny.. but the forum chit chat activity has gone way down. My guess is, money is getting tighter. With the economy sliding downhill.. and fast... it's not too wise to go out and burn up liquid assets.

I am going to limp the stocker along as log as I can this summer, till I find a 9", Wont be spraying till then... think the stocker will hold spray from a roll so I can get some dyno time done?
The rest of the susp. I am hoping to tackle this winter. So maybe I worded it a little strong hoping to come out strong this year, Next year though...

haha, thats cool man. The 10 bolt will hold on the dyno, but of course not at the track. It should even hold up to some roll racing too. Maybe..

Money is tight everywhere but I am still planning on setting a new stock cube record the first weekend of Sept.
I'm pulling the rear end out tonight and should have the 4:10's in it this weekend along with my good heads. We will get the tune up lined out with both stages the following weekend and maybe hit a local 1/8th mile track if we have time. I just hope everything comes together this time, I could use a shot of good luck with the way things have been going lately.

My story........

I sold a perfectly perfect, 9.xx capable street car and bought a 8.50 cert. tube chassis/BBC/strut car.

Needed a change

Got one

It was "supposed" to be this that and the other..... turned out not to be the case...... not even a little bit

Changed direction again and is now currently under the knife...... kind'a personalizing it so to speak

Iron LSX 427"/TFS 6 bolt/Super Vic/carb style TB/blahblahblah..... gonna hit it w/two or three kits(600 max).

Hope to have it running in time for good air....

Should be a kewl little street car

Dunno if everyone's caught up in the economy or if folks are just re-working their rides...... prolly a little bit of both-
