last night me and my cousin went at it, i have a STOCK 99 SS and he has a STOCK 99 formula both 6 speeds (im a better driver) we went at a roll and he beat me , shouldent the SS be faster ? if so then what is wrong with my SS , recently changed the plugs ,oil ,and tranny fluid on the SS

a lil more than a fender we started at around 25 not sure the ending speed

so the formula has better gears the the SS ?or someone put better gears in it before he bought it , he just bought it last week

your cars have the same engine, his dumdumdumdumdum is maybe a lil lighter why are you so surprised?

Yeah he might have dif gears than you do. Find out what mph he is at in 6th at like 60 and compare it to what you are at in 6th at 60. If its dif then he has dif gears than you do.

The previous owner could have put in a better gear ratio from the aftermarket.

The two ways to check are to open your driver door and look on the side for the code. You could also be side by side with each other at 60 in 3rd, and see if ya'll are at the same rpm. If his RPM is higher than yours when you are both at 60 in third than he has better gearing.

Both were 6spds, so both were 3.42s unless better ones were put in.

I'm almost positive an SS is heavier than a Formula.

It could be that he's getting a better jump or more traction. Try switching cars and see what the outcome is.

well my tires are pretty much bald and we were on a frontage road so maybe i spun the tires ,cause we were even untill 2nd gear he jumped in front pretty good
