Default *Bolt On WS6 vs Bolt On Z28*(Video)

My friend has a 2002 Z28 and he has one of the fastest bolt on LS1's around here, i really cant figure out how his car can pull so many of us other LS1's guys, his mods are a LID,3.73's,Catback,and an LS6 intake from the factory, he is also an A4. he has beat full bolt on F-bodys with headers, tune, exhaust, lid etc etc...i have somewhat figured out that he is one of the only ones who has the LS6 intake out of the other guys we race with but i doubt it would make him pull that hard up top. 1st and 2nd gear we are close but as soon as i shift(a4) into 3rd hes pulls away fast, now i dont know if its the LS6 intake or the 3.73 gears but i should be considerably faster then him on top end with the mods i have. Im beginning to think that my car is shifting to soon, i think the shift points are set to 5900-6000. Anyone have any clue why he has such a fast 3rd gear.

My Mods: Lid,Catback,Cutout,Longtubes,Tune,Free Mods,3.23's(A4)
Z28: LS6 intake,Catback,Cutout,3.73's,(A4)

I think this video proves without a doubt that the GT500 in your other video sadly needed a better/smarter driver.

Oh and nice video.

That reminds me of a race I was in against a '98 SS with my '02 SS when both were stock (both 6-speeds). I would pull just like the Z did in that video at almost exactly the same speeds...the only thing we could come up with was the difference in the intakes.

Pull all that plastic off your car and it will be a good race. However, you've got a better looking, better interior car. For what it's worth...

i pull harder than he did on you vs ls1s with full bolt ons. for some reason most 02s are beast stock.

Oh ****, I can tell you for sure they are. I put 20's on my stang and they KILLED me. Had to go 4.10 to make up.. I'm now looking at some lightweight 18# 18'' volks now for the stang.

gears + smaller tire + ls6 intake = outcome.

btw- the ls6 intake was by far the most noticable mod I have done. minus the spray of course.

Get a 4400 stall, that should help even from a roll.

Didn't sound like he did he just anticipated the honk and hit it dead on. There isn't a rule that says you have to give 3 milliseconds before you can hit it. Three honks, go on the third. Good kills.
