Default Please help me diagnose my dieseling problem

So, here is the deal:

New 383 lt1 - all new components - see details in sig.

I have an intermittent dieseling problem.

I have read some other threads - they suggest the root cause could be timing, bad injector, or a bad fuel pressure regulator.

My injectors are new. My aeromotive FPR has about 10k miles on it.

My timing is not that aggressive, about 2 degrees above stock, so i don't think that is the problem.

Here are my symptoms:
1. Smell fuel at time car is shut off (but no sign of fuel leak)
2. Dieseling is intermittent - maybe 1 out of 10 times i shut off car. A little more frequently if car is hot (~210), but not always, and not only if car is hot.
3. Fuel pressure control is fine - except when i have less than 4 gallons gas - then, going around corners, fuel pressure will drop very low (from 42lbs to ~20lbs). >4 gallons in tank, fuel pressure is solid.

I am leaning towards a bad fuel injector, but would love some input before I get to fix'n..........

Pull the rail with the injectors in tact and pressurize the system (turn the key to on) and see if any injectors leak) this really sounds like a leaky injector leaving gas in the motor after turn off. Also have you had it tuned for the injectors as you sound as if you are running really rich.

I have tuned the car - it is dialed in and not running rich at all.
